“Every room has a focal point-an object around which all of the other furnishings are simply arranged; and for most living spaces, this is the coffee table.”
Taste in coffee table styles vary-with some of us preferring a modern, traditional, coastal, rustic or even victorian style. Our choice in décor style will most likely be pegged on the existing décor in the rest of the house. Regardless of your choice, the selected style should easily blend, from one area of the house to the other…one piece of furniture/décor piece to the next.
Dressing your coffee table shouldn’t be rocket science… and we are definitely not keen on making it such. Below are a few simple illustrative tips to help you in decorating your table.
TIPS ON STYLING YOUR COFFEE TABLE
Tip 1: Create Sections
The basic rule that we use in home decorating is that of odds. Décor pieces blend best when in singles or divided into 3s, 5s, 7s etc. Example:
Tip 2: Set the Foundation
In the divided sections, add large basic pieces that will act as a foundation for the rest of the tiny pieces on your table. One large piece such as a tray may be all you need. Similarly and for a larger table, you may opt to, on one side, have a large coffee table book (you can substitute with magazines) on another side, a decorative tray (to hold all your small décor pieces to avoid a cluttered look) and on the last section you may have a candle, a vase, a candle holder, a lantern or figurine-practically any piece or object that adds personality to your table decor. Remember to group 2-3 items on the books and the trays as well as incorporate different shapes and textures.
Tip 3: Add a Natural Element
This may be in the form of a potted plant or flowers-natural or faux.
Tip 4: Height
Be sure to include something with height as it makes for a pleasing display. Mix between vertical and horizontal pieces

We hope the suggestions are helpful to you in creating a beautiful-looking coffee table.
